Founded in 2021, Bayelsa LNG is on a mission to provide the world with clean, reliable liquefied natural gas (LNG), while also benefitting the local communities of Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Our facility will be designed to meet the highest environmental and safety standards, and we are committed to being a responsible corporate citizen.

Our goals

To market, produce and deliver liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and natural gas liquids to buyers safely, reliably and profitably. To help create a cleaner Nigeria by reducing flaring and minimizing environmental impact. To provide to our shareholders superior rates of return in a straightforward, ethical, and transparent manner leading to a long lasting relationships.

OUR STORY

A Message from the
Founding Managing Partner

As a native of Bayelsa from the Ijaw Tribe, I grew up surrounded by the oil industry. Oil was first discovered in Nigeria in 1959 in Oilibiri town, near my village.

For decades, oil exports from the Bayelsa region have powered the development of the global energy sector, fueling foreign economies and supplying essential products to industries worldwide. Yet, despite this immense contribution, to this day, Bayelsa suffers from a chronic and crippling power shortage—an issue affecting much of Nigeria.

Bayelsa has long given to the world, and now it is time for the world to give back. One way to do this is through the Bayelsa LNG Export Project, which will bring jobs, power and revenie to the region.

The Bayelsa State Government is fully committed to the success of this flagship project, which will be the state’s first and only LNG facility.
